ALPENRIND bayern places great importance on high quality products that solely come from farmers in Bavaria. In order to meet the high standards of customers, the company conducts a number of strict control and quality processes, as do independent control bodies. Before a piece of beef leaves the plant, it is regularly controlled. Therefore only those products that comply with the strict guidelines are awarded the certificate and the seal of quality.

Already during the delivery process, highly trained veterinarians look after checking the live cattle. Recognized certificates and quality seals are proof of these high standards: thus, like the location in Salzburg, ALPENRIND bayern is certified according to IFS6 (higher level). The International Food Standard is the most used standard in commerce in Europe and serves to assess the quality and risk management system. ALPENRIND also bears the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) seal, an international risk management system for companies that produce, treat, process, store, transport and sell food products.

The company also participates in regional programs such as the GQ (Tested Quality Bayern); this program originates in Bayern and consists of thorough quality assurance. Customers also conduct regular inspections at both ALPENRIND operations. In addition to specialized audits, there are, for instance, also audits related to social responsibility and job security.

Just as important is comprehensive proof of the origin of the meat – from delivery of the live cattle to shipping of products to a customer. A sophisticated recording and labeling system provides extensive information about each product at any time. In addition to the statutory provisions, ALPENRIND bayern participates in a voluntary labeling system called ORGAINVENT. This involves, for example, additional information on breed, class and conditions of housing and feeding, along with regional background.

Environmental management according to ISO 14001

Protection of the environment is also a matter of concern to us. We use numerous measures in our corporate environmental management program in both locations to deal as responsibly as possible with the natural resources.

Quality right from the start

The quality of the products starts with the farmer whose expertise flows into the care and feeding of the animals. Equally important of course is species-appropriate handling and respect for the animals. Compliance with the Animal Welfare Act comes first at ALPENRIND. By carefully selecting partners, ALPENRIND guarantees high quality raw ingredients and the shortest possible transport routes for live cattle (origin Bavaria), which also benefits the quality of the meat.
